Crystal Sync Motor for Arri 16 Cameras

Introducing our Crystal Sync Motor for Arri 16 Cameras that features 2 crystal speeds (24 and 48fps) and can be directly powered through a 4-pin XLR input.

It serves as an excellent alternative to the original non-crystal motors that tend to wear out over time. 

Use it for music videos, field recording, or short film production, and achieve perfect synchronization between sound and 16mm film.

By bypassing the internal electronics of Arri 16 Cameras, this motor drives the film directly. Please note that a 12v power source with a 4-pin XLR connector is required, and our Pluriboom 12v Lithium Battery Pack for 16mm Camera Bundle is a great option if you don't already have one (shown in the last photo).

*IMPORTANT*
Because this motor is completely isolated from the Arri 16s power system, the internal buckle switch, which detects film jams, has no influence on the running of the motor. The motor will detect anomalies and attempt to stop the motor if there is unexpected tension on the film path after achieving sync, but it will not prevent a bad loop. It is up the the operator to form a proper film loop. Additionally, the motor does not stop when the film runs out, so the operator must pay attention to the footage counter.

This motor is compatible with these Arri Cameras:

• Arri 16S (also known as Arri 16ST)
• Arri 16M

This is the first user-programmable motor available on the market for 16mm cameras. Using the exposed USB-C port, you have the ability to modify or rewrite the code on the micro-controller. Adjust speed options or change the indicator lights with ease, as our expertly designed motor was created with repair and modification in mind.
